Have you ever heard discussion about having a CTA or a Call To Action on your blog posts and social media? It’s always good to include a call to action at the end of your content. It creates further steps and a connection with your ideal client so they will continue interacting with your posts, even after reading the content.
Before we talk about why you need a CTA, let’s talk about what a CTA is:
A Call To Action is a marketing term to prompt an immediate response to content, encourage a sale, or ask the reader to engage in another activity. A CTA is good for using on social media, email newsletters, and blog content. It can be anything from asking a client to purchase something, sending someone to another page on your website, or encouraging them to read more content.
Even though this post is mostly talking about your blog content you can use those same CTA’s for your social media. Here are some reasons why you need a Call To Action on your blog posts!
Keep Your Visitors on Your Website
If your website is registered with Google Analytics, the statistics will show you what’s called a bounce rate. This is the percentage of how long your visitors are staying on your website. The goal for this rating is to be very low! You want to keep your potential clients on your website as long as you possibly can! The best way to do this is to add a CTA at the end of your blog post that send he or she to another page on your website.
When you write a blog post on a recent wedding, ask your reader to visit your contact page so they can inquire with you about a future date. If they enjoy your work and want to learn your pricing, this will encourage them to inquire with you. You can link your contact page in the text.
Example: “If you are getting engaged soon and love my work, visit my contact page to see if I have your date available!”
Another CTA you can add to the end of a blog post is to have them visit another blog post or a wedding gallery. This will give them a chance to see more of your work or a similar blog post.
Example: “To see more blog posts like this, read all about Dave and Suzanne’s wedding from this spring.”
Example: “If you love the image from this wedding, click here to see more of my work.”
Create Brand Awareness
If you have a specific marketing strategy, you can create a strong brand awareness for your business. Everyone’s brand is different. It is based on the ideal client, what message a business owner wants to send, but also colors and images. It takes time to create a brand awareness. But once you establish it, your clients will be able to recognize who you are when they see certain posts and colors.
When you encourage your visitors and potential clients to follow a link or share to social media from your blog, more people will see your content. Using a CTA every time you write a blog will constantly give your visitors a reason to stay on your website or share your posts. The most important aspect of brand awareness is continuity and consistency. The more CTA’s that you add in your blog when you’re doing it every time will strengthen your brand awareness.
Increase Your Sales
This is a big one! Including a Call To Action on different pages of you website as well as your blog, will increase your sales! You want people to find you online, like you, know you, trust you. and eventually buy from you. Now, this doesn’t mean that you will book a wedding every time you post a wedding blog post on your website.
One term that’s important to know is conversion rate. The conversion rate is the number of conversions divided by the total number of visitors. An example of a conversion is when someone clicks on a link from your website and either purchases something or books a photo session.
But the more people see your content, they may end up booking you for a session. If you shoot families and seniors for example, you can add a CTA to contact you about scheduling a session before your calendar gets booked. You want to give your visitors every opportunity to contact you so you can make a connection. Even if they don’t book with you right away, they end up doing so later on.
