Every wedding photographer wants to rank high in Google searches so they can book more dream clients. But what is going to convince someone to click on your blog post when there are so many from which to choose? Whether you’re sharing the love story from a new wedding couple or educating your readers on how to choose the best florist, your blog title has to have the right recipe to hook a potential client. Good blog post titles should be simple, short, convincing, and compelling. Using these elements, we can learn how to write catchy wedding blog post titles!
Use Specific Keywords for SEO
It can be tricky trying to come up with a title for a wedding blog post, especially if you don’t want to sound repetitive. However, this is your chance to use specific keywords that will improve your SEO (search engine optimization) and create a title that will attract the reader’s eye. Before you start writing down ideas, look back through the information for details from the wedding day and ask yourself these questions: In what city did this couple get married? What ceremony and/or reception venue did they use for their wedding? Did anything special happen during their wedding day?
For example, you may have documented a wedding in Pensacola, Florida at a venue called The Palafox House last fall. This particular venue may be a location where you have done some of your best work and you want to shoot here again in the future. Your blog post title could be “A Fall Wedding at The Palafox House in Pensacola”. If someone is searching for a particular wedding venue in this area of Florida, your blog post has a better chance of being found. By adding the season to the title, a potential client will notice that you have experience shooting at this venue at a particular time of year.
As far as using the couple’s names in a blog post title, I usually don’t recommend it unless you’re using other SEO keywords. (When I blog for my clients, I don’t include the names of people in the actual URL address.) Potential clients won’t be searching for someone’s name when trying to find a wedding photographer or venue.
Educational Content that Offers Value
In addition to showcasing work from your latest wedding, photographers need to be sharing educational content that offers value for potential clients. The goal is to always book more weddings, but you can’t constantly try to sell to someone. You need to provide your readers with valuable information that may help them with wedding planning. This creates a know, like, and trust factor and it shows your experience in the wedding industry.
Popular blog posts include “How to Find the Best Florist” or “How to Prep the Night Before Your Wedding”. While these are good ideas, a lot of other wedding photographers are going to have similar blog post titles. You want to ensure that after someone initially reads your blog post title, she’ll be better informed after reading the entire post. She won’t have to keep searching for more information because you have offered insightful and helpful content.
When writing titles for an educational blog post, make sure to include numbers, phrases like “How To…” and “The Ultimate Guide…”, and adjectives that would connect with your readers. If someone is searching for a wedding dress, it’s not enough to write a blog title that says “How to Find the Best Wedding Dress”. It needs to be more detailed, so a better title would be “The Five Best Wedding Dresses for Pear-Shaped Brides”. This title is going to hook your readers and provide relatable content. You can also list backlinks to a local dress shop where you live that has examples of these types of wedding dresses.
It can be daunting to write wedding blog content, especially if you think no one is going to be reading yit. However, if you keep these helpful tips in mind, your post link will be the one that a potential client is going to click on first. It will bring more traffic and in turn more bookings on your site. Let’s not forget that after the title is written, it’s all down hill from there and the body of your blog post will come more easily.
